Bruins ink local standout, Robertson
Two-time Nebraska state champion Robertson joins Bruins for 2013-14 ...
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bruin head softball coach Michala Cimino announced today the signing of Sydney Robertson (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS) to a letter of intent to compete in softball and continue her academic career at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2013.
Robertson batted .417 as a senior as she helped the Patriots to two-straight Nebraska Class A Championships.
The daughter of Mark and Stacie, she intends to major in biology at Bellevue.
Robertson, joins early signees Courtney Schendt (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South HS), Katy Shupe (Ralston, Neb./Ralston HS) and Kaitlyn Goney (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS) in the 2013-14 recruiting class.
The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 league mark, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season title with No. 4-ranked Central Baptist College. As a team, BU shattered the school record for home runs in a season with 70.
