Bruins tied at No. 21 in Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team will open the 2010 season tied at No. 21 in the NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 poll, announced by the NAIA on Tuesday. Eight-time national champion Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) University opens the season at No. 1.
Bellevue returns eight starters from last season's team that finished with a 14-4-1 record, advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Championship before losing to eventual national champion Lindsey Wilson.
The Bruins return the school's career goal leader Mark Heath-Preston who is a two-time MCAC Player of the Year. Bellevue return six first team all-MCAC selections and one second teamer.
The Bruins will open the 2010 regular season on Saturday, Aug. 28, when they host MidAmerica Nazarene at 3 p.m. at Tranquility Park.
