McMan signs, makes pro debut with Lincoln Saltdogs
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Bellevue University pitcher Parker McMan (Bozeman, Mont.) signed a professional contract with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association on Sunday, June 8, and immediately made his professional debut.
McMan came on in relief in the third inning in the Saldogs' game against Fargo-Moorhead. He allowed two runs in 4.1 innings of three-hit ball, striking out four against a pair of walks. He struck out the first batter he faced, Tyler Merkel, and recorded a punchout in each of the next three innings he pitched. Just five of the 18 batters he faced reached base in his 60-pitch outing.
This past season, the senior right-hander pitched to a 6-2 record and 2.29 ERA as he led the team with 14 starts. His 2.29 ERA, 83 strikeouts, 86.1 innings, and four complete games each led the team. For his efforts on the field, McMan earned first-team all-NSAA honors, was an NSAA Gold Glove winner, and collected NSAA Pitcher of the Week honors on March 17 following a 1-0 shutout victory over MidAmerica Nazarene University.
In his three-year BU career, McMan posted a 12-6 record while logging a 3.20 ERA across 143.1 innings pitched spanning 42 appearances on the hill. He struck out 131 batters (8.23 K/9) and issued just 35 walks while posting a 1.29 WHIP and limiting opponents to a .271 batting average. His 2.20 walks per nine innings ranks as the sixth fewest allowed in program history and his 3.74 strikeout-to-walk ratio is good for ninth all-time.
In addition to his athletic achievements, he earned numerous academic accolades during his time at Bellevue, where he was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, three-time NSAA Scholar-Athlete, and was a 2025 CSC Academic All-District selection.
Bellevue finished the 2025 season with a 40-15 overall record, going 19-1 in NSAA play to capture both the regular season and tournament titles for the third-straight season. The Bruins made their 27th appearance in the NAIA National Tournament when they played in the Opening Round – Upland Bracket.
