Cimino adds Christensen to 2013-14 recruiting class
Bruin head softball coach Michala Cimino announced today the signing of local high school standout Alexis Christensen (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue East HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2013.

Christensen, the daughter of Roger and Linda Christensen, lettered four seasons at Bellevue East HS under head coach Tom Horton. She batted .333 her senior season while starting at third base.
Christensen played club softball for Echoes Illusion under coach Terri Cassel. She helped lead Illusion to a second place finish in the 2012 USSSA 18U National Tournament.
Christensen joins early signees Sydney Robertson (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS), Courtney Schendt (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South HS), Katy Shupe (Ralston, Neb./Ralston HS) and Kaitlyn Goney (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS) in the 2013-14 recruiting class.
The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 league mark, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season title with No. 4-ranked Central Baptist College. As a team, BU shattered the school record for home runs in a season with 70.
Bellevue opens the 2013 season this Friday-Saturday, Feb. 22-23, at the Oklahoma Baptist Spring Festival in Shawnee, Okla.
