Softball picked second in MCAC preseason poll
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The Bellevue University softball team has been picked to finish second in the MCAC according to the 2013 MCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released today (Feb. 9).
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The Bellevue University softball team has been picked to finish second in the MCAC according to the 2013 MCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released today (Feb. 9).
Defending MCAC Tournament champion Central Baptist College has been tabbed as the favorite to win the MCAC title. The Mustangs, who are ranked sixth nationally in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 poll, finished 2012 with a 53-8 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament bracket play.
The Bruins return seven starters and 12 letterwinners, including all three pitchers from last season's squad that finished with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 MCAC mark. Bellevue tied Central Baptist for the 2012 MCAC regular season title and finished second in the 2012 MCAC Tournament.
Southwestern Christian University was picked third (21-32 overall, 10-4 MCAC in 2012). Rounding out the poll are Oklahoma Wesleyan University (4th), College of Saint Mary (5th), Waldorf College (6th), Central Christian College (t-7th), York College (t-7th) and Haskell Indian Nations University (9th).
