LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Thousands of student-athletes representing almost 600 different academic institutions have been tabbed as 2011-12 NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes, including three Bruins, Amanda Neumann, Taylor Mohler and Luci Mendoza.
To be named to the select team, athletes must achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale.
The honor marks the second component of the Association's academic award program. In October, the squads with the highest GPAs in each membership category were recognized as 2012 NFCA Top Ten All-Academic Teams.
The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 league mark, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season title with No. 4-ranked Central Baptist College. As a team, BU shattered the school record for home runs in a season with 70.
