Goolsby signs with Bellevue men's soccer program
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head men's soccer coach Matt Briggs has announced today the signing of David Goolsby (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue East HS) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2013.
The son of Robert and Marie Goolsby, he was a four-year honor roll student at Bellevue East High School for head coach Steve Muller.
"David is a great signing for us," stated Briggs. "I have worked with David in youth football and have seen him develop into a very good player who will go on and have a great career here at Bellevue."
Goolsby played club soccer for 402 Academy and was a member of state championship teams in the U13, U14, and U16 age groups.
"We are excited to have David join the Bruins and really look forward to working with him over the next four years," added Briggs.
Goolsby joins earlier signees Jack Coles (Cardiff, Wales), Lee Willmore (Norfolk, England), Jake Williams (Hale, England) and Ben Martin (Lincolnshire, England) in this year's recruiting class.
Bellevue ended the 2012 season with a 10-8-1 overall record. The Bruins finished second in the MCAC regular season standings with a 5-1 conference mark and also placed second in the MCAC Tournament to No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
