DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Bellevue University League of Legends eSports team traveled to Grand View University over the weekend where they competed in the Global eSports Classic against a mix of varsity, JV, and semi-professional teams.
Bellevue posted a 1-2 mark in pool play on Saturday, falling to Fatality and Grand View before taking down Pikeville.
In the bracket portion of the tournament the Bruins took down Grand View's JV team and Midland University to claim the Bronze Championship, earning the team $500 in scholarship money to be split between the participating team members.
The Bruins' next competitive match is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 10 against Lourdes University in the North Conference Quarterfinals of the RIOT College League of Legends Tournament. The winner faces off against the winner of Cincinnati-Columbia (Mo.) with a spot in the finals on the line.
