BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Former Bellevue University baseball standout Michael Calderon has joined the Alexandria Aces of the United Baseball League.
"We are very excited for the opportunity that Michael has been given to continue his baseball career," said head baseball coach Duane Monlux. "Michael is a solid young man and will represent himself and Bellevue University very well."
Calderon compiled a 6-1 record with 46 strikeouts and a 2.84 ERA in 66.2 innings of work last season for the Bruins that finished with a 45-10-1 overall record, winning the MCAC regular season and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the third-straight year.
A two-year letterwinner for the Bruins, Calderon was a second team all-conference selection and was named the MCAC Gold Glove pitcher in 2013.
As a junior in 2012, he was named the conference's Pitcher of the Year while also earning first team all-MCAC accolades.
