KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After a one week hiatus, the Bellevue University baseball team has climbed back into the top 10 in the NAIA National rankings, entering this week's top 25 poll at No. 9.
The Bruins (44-7-1) went 5-0 last week, including a four-game conference series sweep over College of the Ozarks. Those four wins over the Bobcats helped BU claim the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title, finishing with a 21-3 league record.
Fellow MCAC rival York College is ranked No. 11 in this week's poll.
Bellevue's 44 wins on the season ties No. 1 Oklahoma City University (44-10) and No. 2 Faulkner University (44-10) for the most wins in the nation.
The Bruins will host the four-team MCAC Tournament this Thursday-Saturday, May 2-4, at Westgate Field. Bellevue, the No. 1 seed, will play in the tournament's second game at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday against the No. 4-seed Central Baptist College.
The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic berth into the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.
