BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Third baseman Nate Mullins (Snohomish, Wash./Everett CC/Snohomish HS) has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Bruins beginning in the upcoming 2013 season announced today by Bellevue University head coach Duane Monlux.
Mullins played two seasons at Everett Community College under head coach Levi Lacey. He was a first team all-NWAACC North Region selection at third base as a sophomore in 2011 after batting .370 including 14 doubles, two home runs, 31 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
"Nate is a big signing for us. He was a very productive member of Everett Community College's baseball program for two years," said Monlux. "Everett is one of the top junior college programs in the NWAACC year in and year out. Nate has the ability to hit for both power and average. He is a very good baseball player and even better person. We are really excited for him to be joining the Bruin baseball program."
He was a second team WestCo North and Sea-Tac League selection as a senior at Snohomish High School.
Mullins joins Brian Embery (Emporia, Kan./Wayland Baptist/Lower Columbia/Auburn HS) and Kyle Kinman (Omaha, Neb./Butler CC/Northwest HS) in the 2013 signee class.
The 2012 Bruins finished with a 40-21 overall record, winning the MCAC regular season with a 17-3 mark, advancing the NAIA National Tournament for the second-straight year.
